Contact Cook Gunsmithing LLC for Gun Repair Services

Policies

You: No transfers or checks are required for gunsmithing work between you and your firearm and me at Cook Gunsmithing LLC. We can make any convenient arrangements to deliver the firearm(s) that are reasonable.

To receive a firearm that you did not submit for gunsmithing, or to purchase a firearm, you must complete a Federal Background Check by filling out the ATF Form 4473. This form will be completed once you have selected a firearm and are ready to make the purchase.

The form must be filled out in my shop.

I charge a receiving/background check fee of $35.00 for standard non-NFA transfers.

Person-to-Person Transfer: A $30 per firearm fee is required to perform a background check (regardless of the outcome). Both parties must be present at my shop to carry out the transfer. If the purchaser is delayed, the owner of the firearm will maintain possession until they arrive. Once the intended purchaser receives a "proceed" status, both parties must return to my shop (at the same time) to complete the transfer.

Dealer to Dealer Transfer: If I am receiving a firearm, the fee is $80. Additional firearms incur a fee of $25 each. If I am shipping a firearm, the fee is $50, with an additional $25 fee for each extra firearm.

If you have a firearm transferred to me and you are denied, the buyer is responsible for the payment of all fees. If the transfer cannot be completed (for any reason), the buyer is still liable for the transfer fee(s). It is your responsibility to inform me how you would like to handle the firearm.

Options:

1. Send it back to where you purchased it (handling/shipping fees will apply). You must contact the seller to discuss their return policy.

2. Ask if I might be interested in purchasing the firearm from you.

Please note, I will not transfer the gun to a friend or relative, as that could be considered a straw purchase.

If you do not make arrangements within thirty (30) days of the denial date, we will place the firearm for sale. For any gunsmithing inquiries or to discuss firearm repairs, feel free to reach out through my contact form for gunsmithing.
